No Shirt No Shoes

*UPDATE: The party will go on despite weather. They’ve moved it from the pool to the sheltered veranda within the Shore Club. Remember we don’t need no shoes or shirts!*

The No Shirt No Shoes gang and Dub Frequency crew is putting a little pool party together for us tomorrow at the Shore Club, so show up with some flip flops and sunglasses and you’ll be good to go. NSNS has been tastefully curating these events across different cities and they keep getting better and better. Tomorrow Perseus and Chris Malinchak (French Express) will be performing for free (with an easy rsvp) and Troy Kurtz and myself will be warming up the pool for you guys. Vamos! … MORE

Santiago Caballero’s S&T Mix

There’s more to this mix than a well-curated assortment of dance tracks cleverly arranged with clean transitions.  There’s a clear concept and a spirit behind what Miami-based DJ Santiago Caballero puts out.  Months in the making, this mix coincides with the relatively new weekly party in the Miami scene lewdly titled Slap & Tickle.

Curiously held on notoriously challenging Tuesday nights, S&T is a dancer’s dance party.  Resident DJs and close Nightdrive comrades Pirate Stereo, Troy Kurtz, and Caballero himself bring some serious heat to El Bolero Room at The Electric Pickle with local guest DJs every week. The faithfully packed room along with a discreet and unassuming vibe make this party the panacea for any jaded Miami local.  These guys are on to something and they’re doing it for all the right reasons.

Kurtz & Bomber

I recently ran int0 Richard Haig (Panic Bomber) at the Electric Pickle during Art Basel week. I was playing a house set when he came up to the DJ booth and told me about his new collaboration with Troy Kurtz. I’ve been all about Panic Bomber’s music lately (especially his “Visit From the Grave” track) but I honestly had no idea Kurtz knew anything about production. Anyway, I met  Kurtz once at WVUM and…I’ll just leave it at that. Richard however is an old friend and one of the nicest most humble producers I know, guy’s got the Midas touch. Panic Bomber has been instrumental in putting Miami on the national indie-electronic music radar.

The track below is a sneak peek of what’s to come from these two. Great to see more and more Miami personalities collaborating with each other.
