Gold Panda

OK so straight up this guy gives Daedalus and Four Tet a run for their $$$! I was wowed when I heard his ‘QUITTERS RAGA’ EP. Hailing from Chelmsford, Essex (London) ‘Derwin‘ better known as Gold Panda has been hard at work. Remixing the likes of Little Boots, Telepathe, Bloc Party, Simian Mobile Disco, Health and The Field but somehow staying below the radar. The name, he says, comes from his love of Japanese culture (even going as far as living there to learn the language & customs)… Yeah yeah  pandas come from China but the Japanese love everything cute, so there you go! He just released his new ‘YOU’ EP (Notown) earlier this month, which includes the tracks ‘You’ & ‘Before We Talked’ along with three different remixes of the single ‘You’, which I must say are quite nice. It’ll feel good when you check him out and then be the first to tell all your friends!
