Final DJs
At first listen, you would expect Final DJs to be best friends with Sonny and Rico, sipping on frozen cocktails at an ocean-view tiki bar in 1985. It only makes sense that they get some recognition here in Miami for the stellar year they’ve been having in 2012.
Basti and Thomas, hailing from Stuttgart, Germany, are miles away from the golden South Florida beaches and years beyond the decade that introduced us to New Wave music. Yet, they have managed to recreate that beloved, timeless sound with their self-proclaimed “synthesizer love” – a landscape of heavy-hitting drums coated in warm reverb, swirling dreamy synth pads, and arpeggiated accents. All cliché Miami imagery aside, they have added both a unique House element and vintage disco flavor to the picture that seamlessly bridges the gap between then and now.
Final DJs decided to take a stab at production after spinning for many years and it seems as though their hard work is paying off. This year alone, they have managed to win notable remix contests and EP inclusions for Kris Menace’s “We Are” and Lifelike & Popular Computer’s “Get High”. Their sparkling original productions have already gained much acclaim amongst blogs and fans alike and they already have many new projects in the works as you read this.
