Ilija Rudman‘s latest release The Reveal is unfuckingbelievable, I’m a little bit obsessed. I’m also surprised it hasn’t gotten more attention. The album covers almost every 80s electronic sub-genre and its production is impeccable. The album art is also pretty darn cool and looks something like a Mondrian piece. According to an interview on Juno, Rudman still lives in Croatia where he continues collecting records, DJing, stockpiling vintage gear, and producing. His attitude towards “Nu-Disco” vaguely resembles Kurt Cobain’s attitude towards Grunge, hateful towards a genre he fostered. However, Rudman makes 80s sounding synthy disco, it’s new, and it’s seriously FANTASTIC. Mad respect.
